I just wanted to give you an update on our trip to Uganda and thank you for organising an unforgettable trip!
The gorilla trekking was world class! We were lucky to find the gorillas within an hour’s walk from the Nkuringo Camp in the secondary forest so we got some great pics as the vegetation wasn’t too dense. I think the Nkuringo group may be the best group because of the twins, the size of the group and also how relaxed they were! So thanks for arranging our permits for this group.
Everist was top class as his knowledge of the local terrain, cultures, people and birds was truly incredible. He knew the answers to any question we fired at him and you really have found a gem in him.
Your detailed itinerary was spot on and I believe with your level of service, detailed knowledge of Uganda and the great camp your company manage, your will go from strength to strength. The location of the Nkuringo Campsite is amazing! Congrats on a great product!
Keep up the great work! Thanks once again for a trip of a lifetime.

We absolutely have to thank you for bringing both Maureen and me together on this safari. The experience would have been very different (and certainly wouldn't have been half as much fun and memorable!!) if it had been otherwise.
The Nkuringo Walking Safari definitely deserves it's 5-star rating on the pages of Trip Advisor!
I wish you and all the friends at the Nkuringo Walking Safari and the community the very, best in the coming season, and many more after that!

Thankyou for your email. My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time on the walking safari.
We'd like to make particular mention to you of some individuals. Arthur was a wonderful guide - funny, informative, entertaining, talented at copying bird calls (!) with a great ability to read how we were doing on the walk - when to take a breather, when to stop for lunch, when to tell us some interesting facts about the wildlife and when to just walk contentedly in silence. He was great.
At the campsite Asigario, Richard and Perepetua were also superb. Exceptionally warm and welcoming, funny, interesting and the dinner Perepetua managed to conjure up at the top of that hill was fantastic. We felt like everyone on the team was genuinely interested in us as individuals and genuinely wanted us to experience fantastic Ugandan warmth, humour and hospitality.
As a final point we felt that the trip was excellent value for money and we would certainly have been happy to pay a little extra which, if not needed by the staff, could go towards one of the great community projects that are being run by some of your team.
Thanks for a wonderful time!

Just a short mail to say thanks for a great trip. The Johnston's and ourselves had a really good time and fell in love with Uganda. Our gorilla tracking was a very special experience and one we will cherish for a long while - the lads reckon it was probably the highlight of their trip. Your Nkuringo camp is in the most amazing position and the views of the mountains and forest were outstanding - getting to see an active volcano was an added bonus. Your trip included a wide variety of things to do, as well as great birding for our 2 twitters.
Accommodation and service throughout was very good. Please thank our driver Rodney for being so patient and considerate - he was great to have with us.

A big thank you to you, Lydia and Asigario for a fantastic trip with Nkuringo Walking Safaris. All went smoothly with Lydia in Entebbe, who answered all our questions, and our four days with Asgario and the various staff was wonderful. Asgario is a brilliant, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, who is also doing some great work in his own village. It was a pleasure to get to know him and have the experiences in Uganda that we did. I will not hesitate to recommend your company.

I just got back from the walking safari and it was phenomenal. My guide Asigario was fantastic. The trail is fantastic, the views, the service.. all simply fantastic. We saw at least forty different birds over the course of three days all which Asigario knew by name! We even saw a baby crested crane with its mom and dad who were being super protective. God bless the entire Nkuringo team coz I certainly felt blessed the entire time I was there. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

I would like to thank you for our trip and mostly for the energy you put in to secure our gorilla tracking opportunity. I loved every minute of our trip, and will definitely try to send you guests, and maybe come back (with family?).
We found the people in Uganda very nice, and specially enjoyed Asigario, the porters and Benson the chef!

Thank you so much for our vacation in Uganda. I was nervous about it before I came because I wasn't sure I could do all the hiking even though I love to hike. Thank you for providing me with helpers on the hikes and the hot chocolate every morning! You were so thoughtful. Thank you for totally taking care of us and making sure we were happy and cared for. Thanks for telling us what to bring and what to expect. We were truely nurtured all along the way. It was all so wonderful! You have a great team of people working with you!

I have just returned from a trip to Uganda and Tanzania and as part of this trip trekked from Buhoma through Nkuringo to Kisoro as part of the Nkuringo Walking Safari. I have to say, this was the highlight of my adventure through East Africa.
Asigariyo my guide was amazing, extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to identify the plants, animals, and all of the birds that we encountered during the trek while telling stories about the local culture and history of the surrounding areas. All of the staff of Nkuringo Walking Safaris were fantastic and able to help me with every aspect of my trip, from planning my time, budget, arranging transportation and accommodation not only for the Bwindi area but throughout Uganda. These guys know their stuff and can really make sure that your trip to Uganda will be an amazing experience. Nkuringo Walking Safaris helped me to secure a gorilla tracking permit at short notice! I cannot say enough good things about the quality of service they provided.
In addition to trekking from Buhoma, through Nkuringo, gorilla trekking, visiting the local Batwa Community and continuing onto Kisoro, Asigariyo and I also trekked to the summit of Mount Sabinyo in the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park that borders Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo. All together, this was an amazing adventure that I will never forget.

I just completed the Nkuringo Walking Safaris and it was the most amazing experience!
I wanted to rearrange some of my itinerary and Lydia was most helpful to make everything work for me. She arranged a private car for me to ride from Buhoma, once I finished my 3 day trekking, to drive through QENP and up to Fort Portal where I also did the amazing trek to see the Chimpanzees. All my permits, accommodation, and transportation was pre-arranged for me which as a single woman traveler was much appreciated and comforting to know that I was in good 'guided' hands.
Throughout my trip I felt as though I really began to know some of the locals within the Nkuringo community. I spent some time at the local school and was shown where the Nkuringo Youth Group plans to build their future library, all speer-headed by Lydia. I was also entertained and thanked for my support by a small dance performance by the local youth group and treated to a demonstration of local crafts where I bought some of the locally-made baskets, directly from the artisan herself!
I am an intermediate birder, working on a very short 'life-list', which is now 50 bird species longer. I found Asigario and Arthur to be very knowledgeable guides not only for bird identification, but also for local flora and fauna. They always had information-packed answers for my questions.
I really appreciated being able to support the local community members as opposed to larger 'foreign' companies. The experince felt like a true 'off-the-beaten-path' adventure where I not only enjoyed a fabulous gorilla trek in Bwindi and also a visit to see the chimps of Kibale but learned much about Ugandan history and culture. I highly recommend this opportunity.

Thank you so much for organising such a wonderful trip for us in Uganda - it was one of the best holidays we've had. Everything went very smoothly and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole 10 days. The Nkuringo walking safari was definitely a highlight. In taking a couple of days to walk into Bwindi from Kisoro enabled us to see and experience so much more of this special region than if we had been shuttled in by vehicle, as most visitors are. Some of the experiences that will remain with us include: walking through amazingly picturesque farming villages perched on lush green hills; being trailed by dozens of curious Ugandan kids eager to check out the 'Mzungus' 2 Kingfishers hitching a ride on our dug out canoe as we paddle across a glass-like Lake Mutanda; wading through a Ugandan downpour and the privilege of a vibrant performance from the Nkuringo Youth Group in front of an exquisite Bwindi forest vista.
Our guide Asgario was fantastic. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and gave us a great insight into the local way of life, as well as birds and the natural environment. His pride for his local community came through strongly and we were glad to have been able to support his and Lydia's initiatives with the Nkuringo Youth Group.

We had a fantastic time in Uganda and especially enjoyed the walking safari. The guides, the campsite, the atmosphere of Nkuringo in general were so warm and friendly that we felt quite overwelmed and happy to be able to be part of this experience.
Cheers! Anna - Moscow.
The trip was unbelievably fantastic. We really enjoyed the entire time. South western Uganda is gorgeous and was such a pleasure to be in. I will be recommending Nkuringo Walking Safaris to all of my Peace Corps friends as an excellent way to tour the region. Asgario our guide was excellent, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The arrangements were all well organized. The Nkuringo Youth Initiative Group dance perfomrance was most ceratinly the icing on the cake.
Overall, I'm so glad I did it. It will be one of the top things I will remember from my time in Uganda.
All the best Brett - USA

We are back home safely and deeply impressed by Uganda and your organisation skills.
We had a great trip and discovered a unique country, this primarily thanks to you, Lydia and Joseph, and we shall not forget the generous involvement of many others notably Asgario and Sipi our Walking Safari guides. Please let all those people know that they were wonderful and that we shall remember their kindness and commitment in scheduling a spectacular time for us in the country.
